Introduction

Hodgins Online Auctions are auctions conducted on the internet only. The auctions differ from live auctions primarily because there is no live auctioneer chanting bids. However, our computer system simulates the bid and ask prices of a live auction and allows you to bid with a click of your mouse.

Secondly, rather than gathering all items to a central location, the items remain at the seller’s locations. Hodgins Online Auctions provide detailed descriptions, numerous photos and, for some items, guaranteed inspections, making it unnecessary for you to view the items in person. You can bid with full confidence that accurate descriptions and fair representations are made of each item.

Auction listings will no longer be posted on this page. Please click to be directed to the Hodgins Auctioneers main site for all listings. Or click the link below to see a full list of all available auctions.

Hodgins Online Auctioneers provide three auction formats for buyers and sellers:

Showcase Auctions

Showcase Auctions are auction events where items are offered at an online auction on a fixed date. There are no reserve prices at a Showcase Auction.

When a Showcase Auction closes, the highest bidder becomes the purchaser. All items are subject to a minimum opening bid.

Signature Auctions

Signature Auctions are auctions where items are up for auction over a period of seven days. Some items in the auction may have reserve prices. Once the Reserve Price is reached the seller is obligated to sell the item to the highest bidder.

When a Signature Auction closes, if the Reserve Price has been met, the highest bidder becomes the purchaser. If the Reserve Price is not met, a seller has the option of extending a “Sharper Pencil Offer” to the highest bidder. This option gives the highest bidder the opportunity to purchase the unit at a price equal to his or her maximum bid amount. All items are subject to a minimum opening bid.

Immediate Purchase Listings

When an Immediate Purchase Listing expires, if the Reserve Price has been met, the highest bidder owns the item.

If the Reserve Price is not met, a seller will have the option of extending a “Sharper Pencil Offer”.

Hodgins Online Auctions has made its online auction system easy to use for buyers and sellers. We encourage you to take advantage of our on-line marketplace to buy and sell your items.
